I love all that is Sherlock
I like watching any Sherlock movies/tv shows. It's easy to watch and easy on the ears. I Get tired of listening to swearing on tv so I search out classics
Tamp your Pipe and Sit Back
I bought all thirty nine episodes on DVD (the first thing I ever purchased on Amazon, in fact) when my Sherlock Holmes infatuation was blossoming almost ten years ago. The only other portrayal of Holmes I was well-acquainted with were Conan Doyle's books themselves. I am glad that this light-hearted show was my first visual introduction to Holmes.
What you will find unique about this show is Sherlock Holmes' sense of humor. I never got a strong sense that Holmes laughed at himself in the books. There is some of it here and there, but all things considered I think Conan Doyle himself was a rather intense man. But this show bravely creates a Holmes with a twinkle in his eyes. I thought Downey Jr's portrayal in the recent films was reminiscent of Ronald Howard.
Also, this is a great black and white. Some of the shooting and on-location stuff is really awesome from a film buff perspective.
Great Series
I love the old productions of stories like Sherlock Holmes. This one was really nice with good acting and a solid plot.
